The Stanford Reliance Dhirubhai Fellowship Program was created by Reliance Industries Limited to assist Indian nationals who want to pursue MBA at Stanford University. Each year, Stanford Business School may award up to five Reliance Dhirubhai Fellowships. Reliance Dhirubhai Fellows will receive full financial support for the two-year Stanford MBA Program. The scholarship program was started in 2008. The idea of this fellowship has its roots in RIL Chairman Mukesh Ambani, an alumnus of Stanford Business School, who believes that a global perspective is needed for the all rounded development of Indian students, especially in fields like management. Thus, keeping all this in mind, the Reliance Dhirubhai Fellowship covers costs such as tuition, course-related fees, living stipend, and travel allowance
The aim of the scholarship is to effect positive change in India. It provides the necessary platform to the future leaders, so that they can return to India to lead the main industries and play a key role in the development of India’s economy. After completing the Stanford MBA, the students have to return to India and work in an Indian organization for at least two years.
