Experts’ happened in 2008, soon before starting my MBA and after I had brief stints with the corporate, Indian Army, and an Indian test prep company. It’s 2010, my MBA is over, and I am back to India to take Experts’ to the next level. As per our great Professor Mike Allen from Boston University, I am cut for Finance and have given up a rewarding career in the same to pursue Entrepreneurship. The feeling, though, is blissful as I hope that Experts’ continues to impart authentic mentoring to the next generation.
In this section, I tell about myself and my story behind the inception of Experts’, my team, and the company’s vision.

I had my schooling from a nondescript town in India. I wanted to join the National Defence Academy but failed thrice in the Service Selection Board interview. In this pursuit, I wasted one year after my schooling…tasting failure(s) early in my life humbled me and I learnt a basic lesson: always have back-ups. Then, I pursued my bachelor degree in engineering from Bharati Vidyapeeth, Pune. During those four years, I did just decently at my studies but grew as a person. Working on the learning of “having back-ups”, I had two job offers, perfect GRE score, call from IIM-Lucknow, and- most importantly- selection letter from the Indian Army. The next three years were adventurous as well as topsy-turvy as I would overlook the IIM call to explore my passions, have short stints with Army, the corporate, a test prep company, and establish Experts’ Global at 24 to thus find my calling in life!
My stint with the test prep industry started as a part-time trainer with an Indian firm where I took CAT (Indian counterpart to GMAT) classes. It was satisfying to teach hundreds of students. My students liked me (hearsay :)) and I could provide them some genuine guidance. I started taking my classes to a larger audience by posting on PagalGuy. Under the alias ‘Maxximus’, I produced one of the most popular threads, generating a million plus views in just a few weeks. I also started pursuing certain social work and founded Greater India. When I started my GMAT preparation. I took the first official mock test (GMATprep) without any preparation and scored a 720 due to apparent reasons (my success in GRE/CAT and I was a trainer). However, I wanted to score 770-80, the highest I had heard of. The same took me quite long as there was no single study material that was sufficient for GMAT. I kept on solving all the books that came my way, all the free material that I found on the internet, all the tests that I could find from my friends, bookstores, and web. In retrospect, I could have got the same score by solving only 30% of the material I did. Clearly, the GMAT aspirants lacked organized study material and courses. Then came the application stage and I spoke with virtually every prominent admission consultant in the industry but none inspired confidence and I decided to complete the application process without any professional help.
Eventually, I faired reasonably well as I secured some fine admits, including Boston University with 100% scholarship. My journey through GMAT and MBA applications was, if not difficult, extremely complex with clear resources and guidance missing. With my Boston University joining still 7 months away, I decided to address this gap for the future students so they could use my experience rather than re-inventing the wheel. I founded Experts’ Global. I combined my notes, concepts, and practice questions to provide classes in a spare room at my house :). Between February-July’08, I trained around 40 students for GMAT. My students used to do well and I used to derive immense satisfaction from the same. However, my joining date for Boston University started nearing up and I had to, painfully, tell a ‘no’ to quite a few prospective students. This is when a student told me “if you can’t teach me, just give me your study material and tell me how to use it”. The student gave me a great idea! I converted my GMAT program into an online option and now started getting students not only from all over India but from other parts of the world!
Soon, I moved to Boston for my MBA and as I pursued my studies during the day, spent late night hours on running and growing Experts’ Global. My GMAT students succeeded and they seeked support for their applications process; this is when our MBA admission consulting service was conceptualized. Within the first semester of my MBA, when my students started getting admits from great schools and started writing their testimonials, I decided against preparing a job resume and focused on nurturing Experts’ Global. The time my batchmates spent in their job search, internships etc, I spent in growing my firm. On graduating From Boston University in May’10, I had enough results and savings to come back to India and take Experts’ to next level. Soon, I combined my technological bent with my academic acumen and experiences to shape the venture into an EdTech firm, helping students worldwide. Gradually, I developed a strong team of talented, like-minded individuals who are passionate about the virtue of education! A part of our revenues go for social causes as we have adopted multiple children in need.
Update in 2018: Every 10th Indian in US top 50 b-schools is our student. We have trained students in 60+ countries. We have the world’s most complete GMAT Online Program. We have the world’s most exhaustive GMAT test series. Next, we are at an advanced stage in the development of a game (a software) that will help individuals in making career choices.
Post her management education and cross-functional experiences in prominent global conglomerates, Aanchal joined Experts’ Global in a multifaceted role. As head of pre-enrollments, she checks for synergie before any student opts for our admission consulting. As interview mentor, she guides hundreds of students every year through their b-school interviews. As organizational chief, she leads team EG.
Anand, an ISB graduate, is a highly talented individual with skills ranging from Information Technology and Consultancy to Public Speaking and Philosophy. He carries rich experience with a technology major, a big four consulting firm, on a few key government IT initiatives, and versatile start-ups.
An Experts’ alumnus, J’man went on to pursue his MBA from Kelley and take up a prominent role for Microsoft. He has continued his association with the team out of the strong bond he developed over his association with us.
An Experts’ alumnus passionate about education, Sai is an MBA from ISB Hyderabad.
Ranita carries masters degree in English from the prestigious Calcutta University; she has a penchant for creative writing and her job at Experts’ exploits that interest!
DM, as she’s called, Devyani the Student Officer is best known for her excellent mannerisms and sophisticated aesthetic sense. In time off her responsibilities of a Student Officer, she designs our office!
Anas holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Applications from a prominent tech university and a Master’s degree in Human Rights. At Experts’, he combines his passion for education and flair for technology to drive innovation in the EdTech domain.
Akanksha holds a post-graduate degree in Sociology from the Delhi School of Economics. Following a four-year stint in the development sector, she is finally pursuing her passion for education, as a Mentor at Experts’ Global.
Kartik holds a Masters in English Literature from Delhi University. Well aware of the challenges faced by prospective Masters applicants and in admiration of their ambitions, he is eager to help them get any advantage they can.
