In this article, we will be covering all of the critical information to keep in mind while applying to the ISB PGP program. This information includes eligibility for application, the class profile, placements, and application requirements. We will also cover the application deadlines, paying close attention to the differences between applying in Round 1, Round 2, and Round 3.
To begin with, we will go through the basic eligibility requirements that an ISB applicant must have. To be considered for admission to ISB, a candidate must have a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent. This degree does not have to be a business degree; it can be in any discipline. Another vital academic qualification that a candidate must furnish is a valid GMAT or GRE score. As the ISB PGP is a professional course, there is also a minimum amount of work experience required to apply. The candidate must have had at least one year of full-time work experience, failing that, the candidate must opt for the early entry option. Finally, if the language of instruction of your undergraduate education was not English, you will need a TOEFL/IELTS/PTE score.
As of the time of writing, the details of the current year’s class profile have not been revealed, so these statistics apply to the class of 2021.
The total number of students is 690. 60 percent of the class is male and the mean GMAT score of the entire class is 707.6. The mean GRE score is 327.47.

The average CTC was INR 25, 06, 434, representing a three percent increase over that of the class of 2019.
We will now take a look at the ISB placement data, from an industry perspective. Please take a close look at the following table.
As you can see, Consulting, General Management/Strategic Planning, Product Management, Sales & Marketing, together, make up roughly 70% of the placements.

The Round 1 deadline is September 4, 2022 and the remaining deadlines are yet to be announced. As you can see, there is also some difference in the application fees. The Round 1 fee is INR 5000 and increases by INR 2500 in the next two rounds.The decision date is yet to be announced but ISB typically takes around 45 days to announce its decision.
There is no significant difference in the chances of selection between rounds. ISB has explicitly stated the same on its website and in our experience, helping hundreds of students secure admission to ISB, corroborates that. However, there are some differences in the scholarship opportunities available. Full tuition fee waivers are only available to Round 1 applicants and 50 percent of all merit and need-based waivers are offered to them, as well. Furthermore, Round 1 results come out much sooner than those of the international schools. Hence, applying to ISB in Round 1 makes sense, if it is your first choice.
We will now cover all that you will have to submit to ISB, as part of your application. As mentioned above, you will have to furnish a valid GMAT score. Remember, the GMAT score is valid for five years. ISB also requires one professional recommendation, online, meaning that you will have to give the professional email ID of your recommender. An automated email will then be sent to your recommender, who must then follow the link and answer certain questions about you. Recommendation requests can also be sent before you submit your applications, and it is advisable that you send it soon after starting your application, as it will give your recommender more time to respond.
There will, of course, also be a rigorous application form, all the more rigorous, as ISB does not ask for a resume. Finally, there are the application essays, probably the most important aspect of your applications and deserving of great care. The two essay questions for 2022-2023 are as follows:
