Masters in Management (MiM) vs. Master of Business Administration (MBA)
The key differences between MiM and MBA are as follows:

Age: MiM Programs are not very particular about the work experience and background of the candidates like MBA does. So, professionals from any academic background can opt for MiM. Thus, the students pursuing MiM are comparatively younger than those pursuing MBA. The average age of students pursing MiM is 23 years.

Professional Experience: Professional working experience does not play a very significant role in the course structure of MiM. Instead, in MBA it does a lot of value addition to the course and its understanding, making even the selections on the basis of the kind of working professional experience the candidates have. In a nutshell, MiM targets those students right after their undergraduate degree. In case, they have a year of work experience, it is good though not necessary. While, MBA demands 2-3 years of working experience, the absence of it can make the course very difficult as the appropriate guidelines and insights would be missing.

Tuition Fees: In comparison, the tuition fees for the MiM courses are cheaper than the MBA ones. This has to do with the target group in focus. Obviously, the young people, right after their under-graduation are unable to save a lot of money. Hence, the MiM course is designed in that manner.

Curriculum and Content: The MiM program is more focussed on the theoretical side of management studies than the MBA program. For MiM, mathematical or analytical skills are needed and the final dissertation project is more research oriented. The professional pursuing MiM can further qualify for a PhD in management research and studies. While, in MBA, the practical side of management and business is given more importance. The core subjects do deal with financing and accounting along with the analysis of the business cases. In-company projects are also integrated with the studies, making it more real-time.

MiM Selection Criteria
The MiM program structure and admissions are similar to that of the Master of Business Administration and Master of Science in Management degrees. As the program is designed for students interested in entering leadership roles, the degree attracts applicants from diverse academic disciplines.

Career Prospects after Master in Management
After the completion of the MiM program, the students can focus on the various sectors for long term career growth, like Management Consulting, Investment Banking, Finance, PR and Advertising, etc. The best part of the program is that students have been trained with a blend of theoretical and practical side of management studies, which makes them better professionals after the graduation, understanding the tips and tricks of the business and management field.

Consulting firms are big recruiters of MiM professionals. The MiM graduates have a good reputation with companies that are into running graduate training programs, as well as the consultancies and banks looking for the analyst-level recruits.
